Product information
Product description
GE Security addresses Ziton product deficiencies which may have resulted in a failure to detect all fire hazards in limited circumstances.
Update
As at January 2009 GE Security finalises compliance for Ziton fire protection products – resumes supply of Ziton Fire Indicator and EWIS Panels.
Ziton Australia was acquired by SPX to form part of their Edwards fire business in October 2003. GE acquired the Edwards fire business in March 2005 and subsequently discovered that some Ziton products did not comply with the applicable Australian Standards. GE stopped the shipment of all Ziton products, assumed responsibility to overcome these deficiencies and engaged CSIRO to undertake compliance assessments of all Ziton products.
GE has achieved 100% product compliance for the full range of Ziton products and product shipments have resumed. Upgrade kits are available to bring installed non-compliant systems into compliance.
Ziton Fire Indicator Panels, EWIS Panels and associated devices continue to be sold into new requirements and for the expansion of existing systems. These products are fully supported by GE Security and its network of channel partners, guaranteeing availability of new panels, spare parts, maintenance and upgrade capability now and into the future.
