Mechanical malfunctionWhat are the defects?
Due to the Power Assisted Steering (PAS) system high operating pressure, in combination with resonance of the high pressure pipe connection to the PAS pump, there is a risk the pipe retaining snap ring within the nut connection on the pump could wear. Excessive wear of the snap ring/pipe will allow the pipe to detach from the pump, resulting in loss of power steering assistance and PAS fluid leaking int the engine compartment, with risk of the PAS fluid contacting the exhaust manifold and catching fire. A retaining collar has been developed to ensure the pipe cannot detach from the pump nut.Where the product was sold
