Product description

This recall notice is issued by the South Australian Minister for Business Services and Consumers pursuant to Section 122 of the Australian Consumer Law (SA).

Identifying features

Saekodive buoyancy compensators Cyclone (model #9000) and Hurricane (model #9300)

Manufactured in 2005 and 2006, but may have been available for sale up to and including 2008.

What are the defects?

The plastic seal connecting the inflator/dump valve to the vest can become brittle and detach.

What are the hazards?

The defect poses a drowning hazard if the failure occurs while underwater as the vest may fill with water and act as an anchor.
